In this picture there are many of the bug, bird and animal characters in the stories on this website ( http://www.kidsfunreads.com ) Can you find all the hidden character in the picture? Look very closely. It can be a bit tricky. Next week I will tell you how many characters are hidden. And check the star around the dogs neck. The dog is an illustration of Finn. Also the bug in the sky is Pintsize Plasma. Answer: You might think the answer is 8. But if you answered 9, you are right. In the front poppy there are 3 characters. Did you see the tiny, tiny bug beside the colourful bedbug and the ladybug above his head. Then there are two dogs, two red birds, another bedbug and pintsize plasma in the air. Finn loves elevator rides.
One of Finn's favourite things about the elevator is the floor. Can you imagine why he would like the floor so much? Well, I'll tell you - and I think you might not have thought of this - Finn love the smells and tastes on the floor. Since we live in a very tall building with 23 floors, there are a lot of people who have food delivered at dinner time. Of course there are going to be delicious drips and drops on the floor that Finn can smell and sometimes lick. I would rather he didn't do this, but like any parent, I can't always get my little guy to do exactly what I want him to do all the time. And truthfully, I love watching him because it makes him so happy to smell everything. I mean, after all, what else does a dog get to do all day. The other thing he can smell on the elevator floor is the scent of other dogs in the building. Finn can tell which of his friends has been in the elevator in the last few hours. Now, in the following video, you will see one of the other things that Finn can't resist. Finn is a people dog. He loves to be petted by anyone and everyone. On this adventure, although he knew he wasn't supposed to, Finn was very tempted to get that pet and love he was longing to get from the other woman rider. Watch closely and see what happened. It took me a little while to figure out how to put this video together for you. I'm sorry I didn't get it posted for November 11th, the actual date of Finn's birthday. Finn went on a 3 week trip for his 2nd birthday. He travelled from Canada to Niagara Falls, New York. Then he went to Pittsburgh, North Carolina, Tennessee, Nashville and on to Texas. He was on his way to Texas to see his new cousin Josh who just turned 3 months old. Josh has two sisters, Kate and Charlie. Kate is 5 and Charlie is 2. When we arrived in Texas it was on Finn's birthday. This made him very happy because he was glad to see his cousins and get out of the car and run around. So he was full of energy. We had balloons and cards for his birthday party which made it even more like a birthday party. Finn got a new chew bone and a new squeaky toy. The girls were happy to see Finn for the first time. They had seen him on Facetime but not in person. You know how full of energy Finny is, so he can be a little frightening for a 2 year old. It took Charlie a few pets with me holding Finn before she was comfortable with him. But Kate had played with dogs before and she picked him up right away giving him lots of hugs and cuddles. Of course, our little Finn loved the attention. Kate and I thought it would be fun to dress Finn up in his raincoat. ![]() On our way to Texas we travelled in the Great Smokey Mountains in North Carolina and in Tennessee. Finn loved playing by the Pigeon River with it's babbling brooks. He had fun chasing sticks and running through the leaves beside the slippery rocks, bubbling rapids and splashing waterfalls. While we slept in our cozy hotel room throughout our travels, Finn slept in a red, canvas tent in our hotel rooms. He had all his toys with him and especially his frisbee. He can chase that frisbee until he just can't run anymore. His favourite trick is to catch it before it stops moving. Then he races back to me with it hanging from his mouth and chases it all over again. Finn's Trip to the Woods So, as you can see, Finn had lots of fun for his 2 year birthday. He made new friends, he discovered the world, he played in the leaves and he's getting smarter and more fun to play with every day.
I still have the stick that he found in the Smokey Mountains and once in a while I bring it out and his tail swishes and swoops with joy. Trouble is, he loves to rip the bark right off the stick and pretty soon there won't be anything left. On our way to Texas we stopped in Tennessee to see Finn's friend and cousin Madison. Finn met Madison last Christmas when she came to visit and he was looking forward to seeing her again this year. But it was a school night and Madison had to go to Girl Scouts. He is hoping to see her real soon because he missed Madison. She and Kate are cousins and they are the same age and great friends. |
