RACE AT BEDBUG PARK
Pintsize Begins the Race
“Nice running shoes,” screamed Cindy Mite from the sidelines.
“Watch me win this race!” Pintsize yelled back. “These shoes will propel me over the finish line like a rocket.”
Pintsize really wanted the prize. He’d been running from one end of the mattress to the other all summer to get ready for the race. But he was secretly worried that Cindy’s brother, Dyno Mite, would beat him to the finish. Dyno was bulging with muscles and he was much stronger than Pintsize. Dyno Mite was the favorite to win this race.
“I’ll see you at the picnic after you win,” Cindy Mite yelled back with a smile and a wave. The gun boomed and she watched Pintsize take the lead. Cindy thought her brother’s head was getting too big. She hoped that Pintsize would beat Dyno to the finish line.
Pintsize burst from the starting block and surged past the other runners. Only Dyno Mite was in front of him and Pintsize gave every bit of energy he had in him in an attempt to over-take his opponent. He had the finish line banner in sight when suddenly he found himself tumbling over Dyno and sliding along the ground.

BOOK REVIEWS FROM www.goodreads.com Give-away Contest in April/May 2014
Amanda Mallory rated it 5 of 5 stars
I received this book for free as part of good reads - first reads.
My 8 yr old daughter could not wait and ran off to read it :)She liked it and said it was a bit funny.
I read the story and thought it was great I had a good laugh at poor Pint Size Plasma as I imagined him almost getting squashed and felt his joy when he won the race with an accidental trip at the finish line.
The illustrations accompanying the story were brilliantly done.
Would be very interested in reading some more of these books :)

Great book for kids! I won this through the give-away. My daughter loved the pictures really vibrant and colorful, still to little to understand the book but she still payed attention. Read it to my older niece and she liked the book. I loved the pictures myself!

Pintsize Plasma is anxious to finish first in a race and win a ski trip. He's been practicing a lot but is still nervous about overcoming his bigger and stronger opponent, Dyno Mite. His loving mother makes sure he has a nourishing breakfast to ensure he performs his best and wins the race. In the end the tiny bug celebrates accidents with good food, friends, and humor.
I won this book through a give-away (YAY)! The cute and colorful illustrations are what I love most about this book. There are nice messages about good nutrition, being environmentally friendly, and working hard for what you want too.
